How to Make Your Bras Last Longer

  • 2 min read

When it comes to taking care of your bras, there are a few things you can do to make them last longer and feeling like new. From washing, drying, to replacing your bras, we're sharing our top care tips so your LoveSuze bras keep you feeling supported and sexy with every wear.

The best way to wash your bras

The first step to extending the life of your bra is through proper washing—hand washing, that is.

Hand washing your bras is the best way to keep them clean and in good shape over time. We recommend hand washing your bras once or twice a week in cold water with a gentle detergent.

If you don't have the time to hand wash your bras, throw them into a lingerie bag and wash them with your delicates on your machine's gentle cycle.

Don't have a lingerie bag? You've got options:

Use a pillowcase.

A pillowcase works as a great substitute for a lingerie bag. Toss your bras inside, tie a loose knot, and wash with lukewarm water on a gentle cycle.

Wash freely with delicates.

If you're washing your bras with your delicates—without a bag or pillowcase—make sure the back band is hooked and closed so it doesn't tear any other items or get twisted in the machine.

Drying your bras: machine or air dry?

Machine drying your bras seems easy and convenient, right? Well, you're not entirely wrong. While machine drying definitely speeds up the chore, it drastically damages your bras, breaking down the elastic and delicate fabrics.

After washing your bras, leave them out to air dry. Lay them flat or hang them on a rack or hanger.

We know, we know. The thought of taking the extra step to air dry your bras makes the whole thing seem as exciting as watching paint dry.

But get this: while your bras are enjoying their siesta, the elastics and functional parts recover and return to their original state. So when you slip that bra on again, it'll feel like new.

Give your bras a break

Nothing beats the feeling of taking the whole day off. Especially for your bra.

Yep, just like you, your bras need a day or two for some R & R after each wear—especially if you want your bras to last longer. Besides, after all they do to support you, it's the best way to thank them.

Ideally, you want to have at least 3 to 4 of your favorite everyday bras in rotation. Giving them some much-needed rest makes them a long-time staple in your wardrobe and feeling like new.
